Hey everyone. I'd like to thank ChiroSecure for hosting this event and allowing me to spend a few minutes with you. I'm Dr. Randi Ross, CEO of Premier Practice Consultants, and today I wanna spend a few minutes sharing something with you that has come up over and over again. Surprisingly to me, whenever something comes up over and over again, I figure, ugh, everybody needs this information.

So people will ask me, or maybe I shouldn't say, ask me. I'm surprised when I hear. Doctors have given out their personal cell phone number or their personal email address. Now, some of you might say wait. That's the way I render care. If someone needs to get in touch with me, I want them to be able to reach me.
I agree with you a thousand percent. I commend that you're committed to that. But what I'm telling you is there are so many systems in place today that they don't need your private. Cell phone number. They don't need your private email address. Okay? And I'm gonna tell you why that's so important.

First of all, there should be a little bit of separation of church and state, so to speak. And also when you go to cell, what do you do? You're going to, you're gonna give them your cell phone number. You're gonna give them your personal email address that has, your kids' photos on it and you know your daughter's wedding pictures.
No, you're not gonna wanna do that. So you can have applications set up, okay. That ring on your phone the same way your phone rings, it just rings through a different application. It will send you messages. Usually you can text right through there. Another one we use. You can basically do everything in this one app.
I can use it on my computer. I have it on my phone. So when I answer my phone, when I'm not at my desk. No one knows that I'm on my personal cell phone. Okay? Same thing with my email address. No one has my personal email address, my business email address forwards for me. Okay? We have systems where everything's designed and what today's technology, there really is no excuse.
I get years ago this process was a little more complicated. You almost, I remember the days when we used to have to carry a second phone if you wanted to have more of a business cell phone, and you didn't want people to know your personal cell phone number. But technology today has advanced and that is not the situation.
So anyone that likes to give out their cell phone number. Go ahead and do it. Just make sure it's through another application so that when we go to sell your practice. We can just transfer that application that the patients are calling or texting or emailing or whatever it might be, because, again, you're not gonna give up your personal things and there's no reason for someone to be calling your personal cell phone when your cell phone can ring the same way.
With an app and that app can be registered as your business phone number. It can say personal. If you wanna do that and make it, seem a little more intimate, that's fine. You can, direct, like I have two numbers that ring to mind. One is more my personal, not the business line, and it says direct.
On my business cards, on my emails, whatever, someone asks for my contact information, that's my direct number. They don't have to go through a system. So you can do that. I'm sure most of you have systems in your office that already allow you to do that. You might not be utilizing them. It's probably just a box you literally have to turn on.
If not, call your systems the systems that you're using, whatever they are to run your office. Especially if you're, if you have some type of text message system you're already using, there's a good chance these different applications are already there. And please, this is a big problem when you go to sell your business.
So if you've been doing it. Okay, now's the time to switch and get people off. First of all, stop giving it out and find the application that can work, that does the same function rings to your cell phone. And, and then kind of transition people off of that. There's many ways that you can do that.
You can simply tell them, we're, I'm moving to a new system, please use this number. From now on, you'll still get me direct. If you need me, you can have your own email. That comes through, outside of even your office system. But again, today on everyone's phone, you don't miss a beat.
You get your emails, you get your text messages, you get your phone phone calls, you get your voicemails. My voice voicemails are translate to text. And they send me an email so you'll never miss something, even if you feel like you need to provide urgent care or check on people for some reason.
So if anyone's a little unsure of this, you can feel free to reach out for me, and I'm happy to talk you through certain applications that I've used and that other people have used when I found them in this situation. You don't wanna wait too long. This just happened. With someone that wants to sell their practice.
They've been using their personal cell phone to call and text people for years. Now we have to try and get people off of that, so it's a little more difficult if you are at the point where you wanna sell. So let's take care of this before that happens.
